I got up at 5am on Monday morning to roll down to Swamis on the first real El Nino winter swell of the year. The waves were firing of course... but the best part were all the old local dudes standing around talking story. I heard guys talking about the winter of '76, which was before anyone even knew about El Nino this or La Nina that. Back then, It was just plain BIG.
Every year we make the trip to Mt Bachelor with a fun crew of friends to celebrate life. This was the 4th annual trip we have done, and couldn't have asked for better conditions. It dumped over 48" inches before we got there, and continued to snow the whole time. So much fun to share deep snow with good friends.
